At First we Forget the Names

2017

Embroidery on used plastic cups, graphics

The project depicts red book Carpathian plants of the Mygov region, which you will not see in the wild, because they disappear also due to garbage and human behavior. These are alpine white, single-bulb sedge, ice-shaped sedge, leafless chinstrap, Transylvanian eagles, variegated saussurea, fenugreek-like sedge, brilliant sphagnum, sack-shaped sedge, Carpathian sedge, and burnt neotinea. The project presents 12 objects, 11 Carpathian flowers, and the 12th is an empty glass, which symbolizes the artist's question to the audience: "There are already 11 of them, who is next?!". There are also graphic images of plants.

Presented at the exhibition dedicated to the projects after the DEC_ART "Change Makers" residency in Kyiv, in the community of Mygovo, as well as highlighted at an international conference in the city of Lodz, Poland (Ecology art camp residence as a new approach for creation process / Eco made Festival 2017: International scientific conference.
