At First we Forget the Names
The project started with residency in Capathian Mountains in a small village Mygovo in 2017 and it has its continuation now - with various textile collages depicting plants, mainly from the occupied territories.
Also the project contains series of workshops for children which introduce them to common and rare plants of Ukraine.
The project depicts flora Red Book: different plants and flowers, which you will not see in the wild, because they disappear also due to garbage and human behavior, and starting from 2022, also with destruction from the occupiers.
In the very first project I depicted such plants as Alpine White, Single-bulb Sedge, Ice-shaped Sedge, Leafless Chinstrap, Aquilegia Еranssilvanica Schur, Variegated Saussurea, Fenugreek-like Sedge, Brilliant Sphagnum, Sack-shaped Sedge, Carpathian Sedge, and Neotinea Ustulata. The project presents 12 objects, 11 Carpathian flowers, and the 12th is an empty glass, which symbolizes the artist's question to the audience: "There are already 11 of them, who is next?!". There are also graphic images of plants.
Presented at the exhibition dedicated to the projects after the DEC_ART "Change Makers" residency in Kyiv, in the community of Mygovo, as well as highlighted at an international conference in the city of Lodz, Poland (Ecology art camp residence as a new approach for creation process / Eco made Festival 2017: International scientific conference.
